A Storm Is Coming

Here’s another pretender to the iPhone throne– the Blackberry Storm. No other phone was ever conceptualized for the sole purpose of dethroning Apple’s iPhone. Nah, not really, I made that one up. Though seriously, the PR was that this phone is supposed to knock Apple’s phone atop the pedestal it now holds. Hmm, which pedestal would that be?

Blackberry Storm has gone one-up on the iPhone’s touch technology. The keys being touched actually show an image of being depressed. Nothing really beneficial about the ‘depressing’ image, it’s just a matter of aesthetics. But still in this market when you can only get so much differentiation, things like this ‘depressing’ image can sometimes spell the difference between a phone being forsaken for another model. And RIM’s quirky feature is a good step in an interesting direction.
