Category: Lately I’ve been like a stat-crazed psycho on death row. I guess it’s only natural if you’re putting on a boatload of work and would like to see if that effort is showing. Admittedly this effort has had very little effect on Google’s PR, those $#@%^&*! Lol. But there is a marked improvement when it comes to my Alexa ranking. Historically, this blog was actually hovering around the 100K++ some months ago. But with neglect it managed to crawl back to the 900K++ hole.
Just today however it just managed to break the 400K barrier and is now flying happily in the 300K++ level. And this is really good, considering that around the 3rd week of January this blog’s Alexa Ranking is still in 800K++ range.
I can’t really hog the credit here because I now have two elves doing a lot of legwork for me, Ying and Brax are trolling the web promoting this blog in their own special way. lol. I’m sure that at the beginning they’ve managed to annoy and piss some folks with their buzzing comments but at least these are human editors and not some bot leaving sh!t all over the blogosphere.
Really an improvement of more than 500K Alexa points in less than a month is nothing to sneeze at. And you know what, if you also need a hand in improving your rankings. I can hook you up with these guys for unbelievably low rates. Note that I said low and not reasonable. ‘Coz when I say low, I mean under the pavement low. Hmm, if we managed to boost this site’s ranking significantly in less than a month, imagine how we would fare 2 months from now.

Hi Marg, I just got these two to exponentially increase my social network. If you’ve tried blogcatalog for example, you can look up my profile, thirdworldgeek and note that I’ve already got thousands of friends out there. That is a very good source of traffic. I also got them to visit lots of dofollow blogs and comment well using my anchor text and url address. They also do a lot of other stuff for me aside from these. Hopefully they get a lot of experience from this one so we could set up a more formal service offering in the blogging community. But really, as to the cost, we are from a third world country so it’s very, very low.

Hi Jan, do you know how many computer grads we have who are unemployed right now? I’m sure you do. hahaha. These kids hang out in internet cafe’s all day doing nothing but play games. I just gave them something that would benefit them once those big SEO companies settle in our shores, that way they’ll already have the experience.
I wish I had elves, free elves. I am still new and don’t know anything about Alexa yet. I guess it’s time to change that.

Hi L, Alexa is just a ranking site. They sort of rank all the websites usually based on traffic and pageviews they generate. Some say that it’s a very inaccurate tool of seeing how you stack up against all the other websites out there but there are some who use it to gauge how much a link coming from your blog is worth, i.e. should they think of purchasing a link in you blog. :)

Oh! Okay… I have been avoiding looking up the Alexa rating on my blog, because it always does poorly, plus the information they have on my blog is wrong, and I have tried to change it over and over and it still is wrong, and I have to be in the Dmoz to get some of it corrected, which I have been waiting for almost a year on them to see if I have been accepted, and still no… So I have basically given up on Alexa ever helping me! But I will look into it again. :)
