Category: [ad#PSP336]This blog managed to crack the 100K ranking of Alexa for April 2009. I was afraid that my site’s traffic has flatlined and will get stuck in the 200K level for a long time. The great thing is that with keyword experimentation, I have hit upon a traffic vein that easily doubled my monthly traffic. Of course, along with it came a surge in the Alexa rankings.
For the month of April for example, unique visitors (per WordPress Statpress Reloaded) reached 21K with around 44k pageviews. Of course Google Analytics has it differently (waay, lower lol) 14K unique visitors with 18k pageviews. Of course this is still significantly greater than the March numbers.
I intend to experiment more with keywords this month and hopefully increase traffic even further.

In terms of Alexa ranking progression however, my other blog, agiledeals.com, a travel blog, is even more surprising. Despite very low traffic, averaging 150 unique visits a day, it managed to reach the 200K level in April, this despite being launched only about 2 months ago. I know, this is going to be another fodder for Alexa haters, but perhaps this is a testament to the power of targeted traffic. This blog sticks to the travel niche and has been getting links specific to that niche only. It’s progression is such that I believe by the end of May it will manage to completely outrank this blog.
The real challenge now is how to monetize this traffic. Google adsense has been contributing measly amounts per day. I still have to wrap my head around this thing though. I’m sure with the increased Alexa ranking these sites will be at least attractive to certain quarters.
Anyway, that’s it for April. I’m excited where the month of May will take me.
