THE CRYING FORMER CHAMPION?
Roger Federer was at it again. Crying. But this time he was crying because he lost. Gad, this guy has to be given the most emotional sportsman in history award. Winning, losing, he just can’t help it. I know it was tough Rog, you being so close to winning and with that record tying 14th Slam in sight, but goodness gracious man, can you please get it together? Jeez.
Nadal as always was unbelievable. Tennis should set a speed limit on how fast a player can run. He was practically running everything down!
I thought Roger was gonna win this year’s Finals against Rafa for two reasons. One, Rafa just came off a 5 hour match against Verdasco that ended dawn Saturday. That didn’t give him enough time to recover, while Roger was fresher having disposed of Roddick in three sets in their semifinal match. Also Roger plays really well in hard courts and Rafa has yet to win a Grand Slam in that surface. Turns out, Rafa’s dogged determination in making Roger play for every point eventually got to the crying Swiss. By the fifth set, Roger was already arguing with the chair umpire in French! And he was lethargic, not enough energy in those legs I think while Rafa was still going strong.
In the end, Rafa was just too much for Roger. I had difficulty believing it at first, even fooled myself into thinking that this year, for sure, Roger will be back at number 1. But the way things are going, unless Rafa makes succumbs to some injury, there could be another Golden Slam winner this year.
By the way, did you notice how Vijay Armitraj keeps missing the target on his predictions? Those folks should do away with that Vijay On The Spot already. It’s embarassing.

It's only November as I write this, but I'm giving the nod to Djokovic for the 2010 Aussie Open. Superb play at the BNP Paribas Masters. We'll know in a couple months:)
