Now this is tragically funny. Because of the widespread complaints about reception problems on the iPhone 4 whenever you hold it in a certain way, i.e. touching the iPhone 4 antenna that’s wrapped around the sides, Apple has come up with a rather simplistic solution. So you don’t touch the antenna, they’re giving away free iPhone 4 cases. Wow! Problem solved. It’s like giving a person bandage for a wound that never heals.
I think this is a nightmare for Apple. I really do. Nobody wants to buy a bandaged product right? The ideal thing to do would be for Apple to come up with a new iPhone 4.something and then do a massive swap for the defective units. This is going to be really costly. But heck, Apple has already made billions off the iPhone 4 surely they could easily cover the cost right? For sure the company would be taking a lot of hits financially with this but doing a swapping thing could make Apple smelling like roses again.
On the schadenfreude side, I think some heads are already rolling in apples R&D department. I mean come on, those folks should have at least discovered this through testing right? How could they mess up this one?
Apple offers free case for iPhone 4
It was supposed to be the best iPhone ever, but one feature the phone has a problem with is making calls. Now Apple has come out with a solution.

Whats that? a free iPhone 4? how about yes please!
I think it is just sad that it is so complicated to get the free iphone 4 case. With this antenna problems there should be free cases avaiable at every store that sells iphones.
I think that is indeed a great idea for iPhone to provide such cases for free. With the reception problem iPhone 4 encountered, I bet Apple tried everything to give quality service after that weakness was noticed. Gadgets as good as this needs better protection; good thing I have mine with GadgetShieldz. It’s just amazing that I have it a cheap price (at $6.99!) and considering quality, it really is good. Anyway, happy to hear Apple has it!
