I have found that many care homes seem to be cutting back on the amount of registered nurses that they employ, and increasing the number of non-nursing care assistants in a bid to drive down costs. Even the homes that specialize in nursing care are having to cut back in a recession. The problem is that this is reducing the number of skill nursing jobs available nationwide.
