Good news for PS3 console owners, you can now use your very expensive Sony console to play pirated PS2 games– in your dreams.
Ok, I’m one of those PS3 owners who, basing on the pirates’ success with the PS2, dug deep in my pocket to get myself a shiny black PS3 console. I waited and waited for the great news that the PS3 has been hacked and can already play not-so-original games but until now I am still waiting.
I thought the writing was on the wall when our friendly neighborhood pirates started selling very high quality pirated blu-ray movies (rrright). After more than a year of waiting, I thought this was it; I could finally buy the latest “version” games to play in my console that has been sorely lacking in attention. Unfortunately, I’ve already searched high and low, sniffed the nooks and crannies of the internet with no good news in sight. Looks like the PS3 has the most talented hackers running for cover.
Oh well, I’ve already waited this long there’s no reason for me to not be able to wait a wee bit longer.
Come to think of it, the games manufacturers should have an out of season sale like those branded clothing behemoths. Would it really hurt them to sell their games at heavily discounted prices when they have already earned gazillions of dollars off those early games? I can only wish.

Hey dude, even if the ps3 plays !lligal games why do you even bother for games which are atleast 3 years old. God of war 3 is comming on ps3, MSG4 is already on it and now GTA’s version is also comming. So not playing oldschool ps2 which are pirated btw (so no online play) is totaly worthless.
Unfortunately you are right. I own a PSP on which I would love to play free downloaded games but I do not wish to deal with the Pandora battery. the closest thing to free games for me is second hand ones. They are very cheap and there is absolutely no difference in playing the second hand or brand new games. I even got a new game once by accident =) I was purchasing my second hand copy of Medal of Honor when the girl at the register accidentally gave me a brand new game =))) Hehehe

Sorry Kiko, that video doesn't inspire confidence. Once the PS3's hacked, it should be all over the internet. This video was made around 2 years ago. If this was real, don't you think hacker's won't be all over the PS3 by now?

Hehe the hack doesn't seem to be out yet but i be that the game manufacturers are happy :) I guess that this is good in a way that we are supporting them by buying the gfame so they know what to make … but i wouldn't buy from greedy multicorps tho :) ( i would not play the game anyways )
First of all you need to see if your PS3 can even play PS2 games. Sony has taken PS2 support out of all the recent PS3 models. Second I do believe that there is no burned ps2 game that can be used on a PS3 without a mod chip. The reason for this is because PC CD and DVD burners can't replicate the PS2 boot code, which manufacturers can because of special equipment. Although you could always try a boot disk like GameShark or SwapMagic
No, some are backwards compatible aren't they? You just have to check, but I don't know why people would buy a PS3 and then not want to play PS3 games on it.
PS3 slim do not offer backward compatibility for games, at least I have found many posts that customer complain about this.
But anyway, who would like to play games that you already played before few years?

Don't talk too soon fellas about the PS3 being unhackable. Check this out – http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZiiH7wUYEuw&fe…

I have flash cards for all of my handheld devices, no way I’m paying full price for my games…
PS3 can play PS2 iso's through the use of HDLoader. You can google around for tutorials.
