Like A Toilet Bowl Sitting On A Man’s Head

Toilet Bowl Head

See the picture above? It’s compelling, don’t you agree? You really can’t take your eyes off it. It warrants a second and a third look. In my case, I just had to take a picture of it. :)

I live in a third world country so a sight like that is not at all out of the ordinary. In a huge way, Infolinks is kinda like this picture. Visitors to my sites look at the black fonts in a plain white background and they get jolted out of whatever reverie they’re in when they see those double underlined green words.  Some folks can’t help themselves that they just have to click on the links. It’s hypnotic. Which is why in most days, the clicks I get from Infolinks far outnumber the clicks I get from Google Adsense.

As a long time blogger and a trying hard, second rate, online money-earner wannabe, I have experimented with a lot of ‘potential’ money makers and so far, when it comes to ease of integration with my blogs, Infolinks is one of, if not the easiest one to implement. Some similar contextual ads have the same ease-of-use functionality but they will make you wait for some time before you finally see the ads. With infolinks it’s like a plug and play device that you just stick into your computer’s usb drive, and you immediately see the results a few seconds later. I’ve never had to contact their support for anything. Well, except of course the email I sent to confirm that this little blog actually was one of Infolinks website of the month for January 2010.  Ahem.

My only regret with Infolinks is that I didn’t jump on the bandwagon sooner. I was one of those ‘hypnotized’ by some of my blogging buddies’ green underlines but I didn’t really took any immediate action to join the program.  It was only until later when they were raving about how in most days Infolinks has been outperforming Google Adsense in their blogs that I did. I must say that from what I’ve experienced so far, Infolinks gives other contextual ad programs a run for their money.

These days, I’m now one of those who rave about Infolinks and have been preaching its gospel to the very few people who follow my blogs. I just hope that for those who have yet to join, once they read this post and see the picture of a toilet bowl sitting on a man’s head, they will;

No. 1 – Immediately sign up with Infolinks, and not feel the urge to do–

    1. thirdworldgeek January 18, 2010 7:31 am

Jan, not sure about earning well, but thanks.

  4. elmot January 18, 2010 3:31 pm

Wahahhha! Funny, really funny. In fairness, for my blogs, infolinks is earning for me quite well compared to the sleazy performance of infolinks

So now a toilet bowl must have hit your head you're replying to comments. LOL.

When I see the picture, I thought you have decided to transfer to your new condo unit somewhere in Pasig/Mandaluyong area which bore your name. I was to believe that you hired that "lagarista" jeepney but consequently, afraid that your million-dollar toilet bowl lined up with glittering diamonds gets broken, you hired that poor guy and make him wear it just to be safe.

LOL. Congratz bro for that Infolinks recognition (and bragging rights, eh?). Watch out for my infolinks entry though – I'm going to win that Wii. Hehehe.

    1. thirdworldgeek January 18, 2010 2:54 pm

Hahaha. I'll look forward to your entry. :)

    2. thirdworldgeek February 3, 2010 9:07 pm

Grabe, prophetic kaayo ka bay. :)

      1. bloggista February 4, 2010 9:08 am

hahaha, shocked din ako! "I'm going to win that Wii" – and wish granted. Hehe.

But you're still Infolinks' Featured blogger for the month of january – aheem, a feat I can't probably copy. Hehehe. Well, who knows? Does this mean I have to say – "I'm gonna be Infolinks featured blogger of the month… ? :-)

This toilet bowl on a man's head is a life changer for me. I am now looking into infolinks and thinking of signing up.

    1. thirdworldgeek January 18, 2010 2:55 pm

I'm sure you'll find it pretty rewarding arch. :)

  7. Ms. Freeman January 18, 2010 6:41 pm

I too am enjoying great revenue from Infolinks, better than Kontera and Google! :)

    1. thirdworldgeek January 18, 2010 7:31 pm

Hi Ms. Freeman, it's great, isn't it? :)

  8. HollyJahangiri January 18, 2010 3:38 pm

I got the part about the guy with the toilet bowl on his head. In fact, it makes sense – complete sense – to me. You do what you have to do to survive, no matter how silly it looks and no matter how many people stare at you and laugh – and DON'T offer you a better way to carry a toilet bowl home.

Or is it that when you set out to take a dump on the world, it always turns upside-down and lands on your head?

Just kidding. So long as those green underlinks don't show up on my comments, we're good. :) Rock on!

    1. thirdworldgeek January 18, 2010 7:30 pm

Holly, I'm still looking for ways to have those green things light up my comment section. kidding..

The world does have a weird sense of humor no? Some say that when the world hands you lemons, you make lemonade. But what if it gives you a toilet bowl, what do you do? Take it home, or take a dump? Good thing this guy chose no. 1. ;)

But this is starting to become a malodorous discussion! lol.

  9. yujinha January 18, 2010 6:33 pm

is he really use those toilet :D

    1. thirdworldgeek January 18, 2010 7:30 pm

      yujin, most definitely! haha.
