It All Started With A Facebook Page

It All Started With A Facebook Page

What happened in Egypt is now part of history. While romantics and poets talk of music or literature changing the world, nothing is more effective when a battering ram is used to break down walls long put up by oppressive forces. In this digital age, the battering ram used was social media. Indeed, what started everything in Egypt was a facebook page that called out to it’s citizens to take part in changing the history of their nation.

As the world gets more digital, knowledge is being shared at a more frantic pace. Ignorance once thought as bliss is starting to become a thing of the past– what with the influx of knowledge assaulting everyone in all direction. This is like a death knell for those organizations who seek to rule by keeping everyone in the dark.

If we are looking for something more terrifying than a force of nature, the internet has to be it. And while we’re at it, why don’t we include it as one of the world’s greatest wonders?

Hooray for the digital revolution!

Remember those tools can also be used by outside forces to stir revolutions into other countries. Disinformation is an old and tried technique.
