Subaru Forester 2.0X

Subaru Forester

Subaru Forester

I got a new job! Yay! The new job will give me x amount of money should I decide to get a new car. Double yay! I know, this one is actually a bait for me to commit to the company for at least a few years. Anyway it’s still a good enough reason to start researching rides.

This part of my new employment package has already given me a lot of sleepless nights. I’ve also burned a lot of hours surfing the web reviewing all the reviews I can get my hands on as to the type of vehicles I would purchase should I decide to take the company on their offer. It is proving to be a most distracting perk, I gotta tell you. But it is a sweet perk and that was actually one of the selling points for me to consider their offer.

This early I am already leaning towards the Subaru Forester if ever I allow myself to be tied down. Reviews by various car sites have been stellar, some were even exuberant enough to refer to the Forester as a classic in the making. It sounds like one too! I like its All-Wheel-Drive (AWD) feature and the fact that the cost of the Subaru Forester 2.0X model, around P1.3Million is very reasonable for a compact SUV has me salivating. Considering that most car manufacturers actually place a lot of premium on having 4X4 drives, what Subaru is doing is industry leading. I do think that the Subaru Forester is a steal considering its pedigree.

Other compact SUVs that I’ve considered include:

Honda CRV

Honda CRV

Mitsubishi Montero

Mitsubishi Montero

Suzuki Grand Vitara

Suzuki Grand Vitara

Toyota Fortuner

Toyota Fortuner

    Hello.

    I would like to put a link to your site on my blog roll if you want to do the same for mine. It would be a good way to build up both of our readerships.

    thank you.

      Yeah. It's really hard to decide where to put your hard earn money. For almost a month, i've been visiting showrooms to select which suv fits my budget, my needs, and my likes. Deciding within my budget and needs is easy, but my likes… ahhh… really hard…. the vehicle should not mugged me of high maintainance, comfort, speed, and fuel efficiency in the future (at least four years). My likes really made me play a.k.a pinkpanther, to know which suv should my money be entrusted.

      I researched the history, present and future plans of the manufacturers of brands in my list: toyota, mitshubishi, honda, hyundai, ford, and nissan, chevrolet, and subaru.

      After the research, taking into consideration my budget, my list shortened to toyota, mitshubishi, and forester. Is it the fortuner, montero, or forester?

      Visited again the showrooms. Wow!! they are all great.

      I check and recheck. For resale value, toyota is first in my list, then forester, then montero.
      Cost of maintainance.. toyota leads, montero next, forester last;

      Fuel Efficiency… looking for petrol suv, there are only two choices: 2.7 fortuner and forester.
      forester a 2.0 L is more fuel efficient, i believe.

      Comfort? Hmmm…. forester's interior looks more luxurius. its technology is more advance.
      but wait, the new fortuner has leather seats and a 7 seater. Hmmm… 7 seater of subaru model cost 2M plus (tribeca). What a heck, got no money like that. Anyway, i don't need a 7 seater.

      Power? 2.7 fortuner is a 160 hp., while 2.0 x forester got 150 hp. Considering the power weight ratio,
      forester delivers more speed as per my computation. Aha! 2.7 fortuner is a 2RWD! forester 2.0x
      is a AWD, an inline engine vs. horizontal engine!!

      But wait!!! fortuner is a beauty. more brusko than forester. I think fortuner fits my personality — conservative but macho. What?? conservative but macho!!! that's the forester, is it?

      Ohhhhh…… help me decide please? which "F" got that FFFFFFFF.

      I'm going to make my final decision tomorrow. Got to test drive again the two F!!!!
      Whichever deliver my Fantasies goes my ten year savings!!!!!!! Pray for me. Thanks.

    First to know is the resale value of the vehicle;
    Second is cost of maintainance after warranty period;
    Third is fuel efficiency;
    Fourth is comfort; and
    Fifth is power.

    Congratulations on getting a new job. Although it is a belated congratulations. Are you going to tell us which car you decided to go for in the end? I don't know much about Subaru's although I did think about buying an Impreza at one time.

    With a few mods, most of those cars you listed could be VERY efficient and even more speedy! Congrats!

    congratulations! coincidentally, i am under the same predicament. getting a good offer from another company with a car plan that makes me whistle. but with an accompanying dilemma, the crv or the forester? hope you could share with me your research so il be guided when it’s my turn. but since it’s almost the end of the year, im planning to buy next year instead. wishing you the best!
