Third World New Year

Even here in this part of the world, we are feeling the economic crunch. There were few fireworks on a night when people would usually blow away their entire month’s salary for a few minutes of firecracking-frenzy. The pyromaniacs were tame this year. It’s a happy and at the same time a sad thing. Happy because at least the fireworks related injuries would be low and sad because a lot of folks are not getting the usual abundance that they’re used to. Nevertheless, happy new year everyone.
