This Third World Geek went on a little roadtrip over the long weekend to visit one of the beaches down South, particularly the Cagwait White Beach in Surigao Del Sur. I’m positive that some folks reading this would learn about this province for the first time. It’s not like it’s the most popular place in the Philippines. But that’s the beauty of a developing country, there are too many wonderful places that have yet to be discovered.

My trip to Cagwait was anything but smooth. Some roads require a certain death wish from travelers to give them enough courage to push through with their travel plans. I was reacquainted to how things are done in the countryside– slow, very slow. Development doesn’t come quickly to this part of the country, which is just as well, at least some of the more beautiful things live to remain such for another day or year. Because Cagwait is simply beautiful even in its unaltered state. Read more of my Cagwait trip here.

I also took time to visit my elves who are just discovering the joys of blogging and had plenty of new found knowledge to share. Of course everything was talked about over bottles of San Miguel under the moonlight no less! I was buying of course. Oh well, when you live in a third world country where a bottle of beer costs less than $0.50 wouldn’t you volunteer to buy?

Nice road trip. Did you find any elves?
Hmm looks quite nice and relaxing :) Would be nice to be there instead of being in the room right now :P
Just wondering where are all the elves with their bows and arrows and magics :P
Wow! Looks like great fun
Do you mean elves, like in Santa's elves? I've never been let alone heard of this place, but it is nice that you bought the beers. :)
